A working castle in Northumberland, lived in by the same family since the fourteenth century. Its outer bailey stood in for the school grounds in the first two films.

A curved limestone cliff in the Yorkshire Dales with a distinctive pavement of weathered blocks on top, used in the first part of the finale.
